Summer 2017

In the summer term we will reading and discussing a range of stories and plays. We will identify the features of plays and stories with dialogue and then write and perform our own.

Our non-fiction this half term is information texts. We will read and evaluate a range of different information texts as well as identifying the features. We will plan, draft, write, edit and review our own information text and decide how to present it including the use of ICT.

Spellings will focus on suffixes including – ation, – ly and ly exceptions, -ous and ous with different root words and -ion endings

 

Plays and Dialogues

As part of studying ‘The Twits’ by Roald Dahl we made dioramas of The Twits living room. Our classroom was as messy as we imagined their living room to be!

Information Texts

We have no completed our research about the different layers of a rainforest – the emergent layer, the canopy layer, the understorey layer and the forest floor. Next week we will be editing, redrafting and presenting our information text in an A4 ‘layered’ presentation. Look out next week to see our final forests!
