SCHOOL MEALS
Pease remember your child can have a hot meal each day or alternatively on a Wednesday (roast dinner day) or a Friday (fish and chips day). If you would like your child to have a hot meal on those days, please pay for the half term via ParentPay. Children in ks1 do not have to pay for their school dinners. School meals are £2.30, Wednesday and Friday hot dinners have to be paid in advance for the whole of the half term for ks2 children.
Our school lunches are cooked freshly each day by our school cook.
The food used in his menus is sourced locally as much as possible.
Food for Thought is a company set up by Liverpool schools for Liverpool schools who source the produce used and plans healthy menus for our children.
All pupils in Reception, Years 1 and 2 are provided with a school meal, free of charge, under the government’s universal offer. We encourage all families to take up this offer, ensuring that all our Infants have a balanced and healthy meal everyday.
Dinner Money
Dinners cost £2.30 per day and are to be paid for on a weekly basis, in advance. All payments must be paid on Monday, via ParentPay. Payment may be made for the whole of the half term should you wish.
Fish and Chip Friday is available but this has to be paid for the half term and cannot be paid for on a weekly basis. Again, all payments are made via ParentPay.
If you require a letter to set up ParentPay, please email the school office at
charles-ao@stcharlesliverpool.co.uk.
Packed Lunches
Children in the infants should not be given a packed lunch as lunch is free to all children in KS1. A hot and cold choice of dinner is available to the children every day. If you provide a packed lunch for your child in KS2 please follow our guidelines:
No Crisps, Fizzy Drinks, Sweets or Chocolate are allowed
Sandwiches, wraps, salads, pasta, fruit and yoghurts are all good suggestions for items you might include in your child’s lunch. A cake or biscuit could also be added, but only one. The children often feel they have to eat everything you pack, so please be realistic about the amount they will eat. A drink of fruit juice or water are the only drinks permitted. Water is available to all children in the dining hall.
