This year, we are aiming for our Live Simply Award. We have committed to nine faith-inspired actions demonstrating which will demonstrate that we are living simply, sustainably, and in solidarity with the world’s poorest communities. We will impact our global family, our local community and our school community and we will reflect the teachings of Jesus, Catholic Social Teaching and Laudato Si’ along our journey.
An animation of the Live Simply Award and details of the actions our school has chosen are in the action plan below:
Spring Term 2024
We started our Live Simply journey with an assembly to introduce the Live Simply Award itself.
Our first action is a GLOBAL LIVING IN SOLIDARITY action. The children have found out about CAFOD’s Virtual World Gifts and are fundraising within their own class to buy a range of gifts for our global community including Teaching Someone to Read, Emergency Water, Water for a Family, Chirpy Chickens, Goats that Give, Queen Bees, Wonderful Worms and Forest School.
Fundraising will begin next week (11.03.24) and each class teacher will message on Dojo how and when their children will be fundraising. All the World Gifts will be purchased week beginning 25.03.24.
22.03.24 Fundraising Update – we have raised a HUGE £871.10 – THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Our second action this half term is a LOCAL LIVING SIMPLY action. We have made links with our local community and will be sending Easter Cards to the residents of three local care homes and the residents of Tramway Road and Borromeo Close.
