History and Geography
Autumn Term 1
This half term we will be learning about London and the United Kingdom.
The children will:
- name, locate and identify characteristics of the 4 countries and capital cities of the United Kingdom and its surrounding seas
- use basic geographical vocabulary to refer to key human and physical features
- use world maps, atlases and globes to identify the United Kingdom and its countries
- use aerial photographs and plan perspectives to recognise landmarks and basic human and physical features; devise a simple map

A Significant Event in History- The Titanic
This half term we will be learning all about the Titanic. We will be developing our chronological knowledge, using a range of sources to develop a greater understanding of the past. We will be also be learning about how this significant event in History links to the city of Liverpool.

Summer Term-History
The Great Fire of London
This half term we will be learning about the Great Fire of London in History. We will be comparing life in 1666 to now and looking at how and where the fire started, why is spread so quickly and how London rebuilt itself after the devastation.
